Samsung users have been waiting for so long for 4.4 Kitkat
update. Well, the wait is over for some of the devices. So, you might be
wondering whether your device is there or not in the update list. Thanks, to an
internal document that has been obtained from Samsung itself.
The 4.4 Kitkat update provides a number of innovative,
easy-to-use features that enhance the user experience, including a more
intuitive user interface, enhanced messaging capabilities and updated
applications:
*. Location Menu:
An integrated location menu enables users to easily activate GPS, Bluetooth,
Mobile Data, and Wi-Fi etc.
*. Enhanced Messaging:
Enables users to choose between Messages or Hangouts as their preferred default
messaging application.
*. Upgraded Google
Mobile Service™ apps: Users can automatically backup photos and videos and
can open, view and share Google Docs and files.
Note: The above features may vary as updates are confirmed
or released!
The documents also tell that we didn’t hope for – The Galaxy SIII (GT-I9300) isn’t getting
Kitkat, due to “unresolved problems”. We guess the problem might be that of the
device has only 1GB of RAM (LTE and US models with 2GB RAM)
Sources say that Samsung has started testing 4.4.3 for the
Galaxy S5 and, now it’s possible that some devices may directly skip to 4.4.3
update rather getting 4.4.2. But, it tells at the possibility that the updates
will take time to arrive.
Some of the devices like Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy Note 3 Neo
have already got the new update of 4.4.2. Samsung is working on the update for
Galaxy S3 but might take some time as it seems like Samsung is having a bit of
trouble implementing its TouchWiz applications, which is stopping the device
from loading system apps. This clears that the RAM is not an issue with the
Galaxy S3. For now, the Samsung’s Dev team has cancelled the update for Galaxy
S3. As soon as there are some news for S3 we will update it. So, stay tuned.
